Beep, beep

Today I was yet again amused and entertained by the things that fascinate a one year old. The game of the day was climbing in and out of the high chair. Fortunately, she knows that she can't get down herself so we didn't have any episodes of "The flying falling baby!" We blew bubbles, but have not quite understood the concept of "blowing" it was more like just opening her mouth at the wand...Unfortunately the wind was blowing toward her so when this happened, the bubbles would blow into her mouth. Ick!

The ongoing game of the day was Ava, wheres your beep, beep? and she would proceed
to pointing at her belly and make a "beep, beep" sound. Shes super cute then lifted up her shirt found her belly button and sure enough "beep, beep" :)

A couple of rounds of "ice ice baby", I've Got the joy (Or, "im so happy, so happy) and Jesus Loves me and the day was over. We have a pretty good time hanging out together. Can't tell you how many times I heard "Bet-any" and responded "yes, Ava?" Maybe we will keep track on Friday!

COOOKIESS!!

As I went to babysit today one of the things that popped into my head was "I get to blog today!" Its been way to long and frankly, I miss it. I am thinking that I may need to broaden my blogging topics, but really, getting up watching tv and Facebook don't make for very exciting blogs! So lets get to the good stuff!

Today was my first day back with the kids and it was super easy because I only had one!! I have decided that that 18 month age is probably one of my favorite because they are talking, laughing, telling you what they want (for the most part) and just plain entertaining. I have never seen a child so enthralled with a pencil box, or disturbed by the fact that stickers are sticky and stick to your fingers. Or the excitement that came when a cookie was given to her while she watched tv. Or maybe it was when I heard her singing "Jesus Loves Me" as she was cuddled up in her blanket and then broke out into Happy Birthday Ava. I do not know that I could have asked for a better first day back! My overall observation of the day however....Kids are cute! Plain and simple! I think I will keep this one around!

If you'd like to make a call....

There is nothing quite like hearing a 4 year old tell you that she could not call you because the phone kept saying: "if you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again." What a goof!
I received this phone call last night and I am positive there was no better way to begin my long night of homework than to talk to 3 of my favorite girls. I had just gotten off of the phone with their mom when my phone rings again and I hear "Hi, its Greta." Who proceeds to tell me all about how she is coming to see me and she is excited to go to my college cause that means she gets to go to the beach and we are going to play a fun game that involves standing on wet sand and running from the waves onto the dry sand. Love her and can not wait to spend the last of my days as a college student hanging out at the beach, running away from waves. :) The other two filled me in on their homework and that they also were excited to get to skip school to come hang out with me. Its really hard to believe that they will be here so soon, it feels like I was just informing them that i had written my graduation on their calender so that they would not plan anything else for that day. Once graduation is over, that means summer and summer means painting, baking, eating, playing, swimming, gooing etc etc etc!

I love you...a bushel and a peck...

I love you a bushel and peck
A bushel and peck and a hug around the neck
A hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap
A barrel and a heap and I'm talking in my sleep
About you

This was our song of the summer...we sang it all the time and I would tickle the girls at the end...so we normally sang it four times in a row so that each girl would get tickled! I loved it...I can still hear Greta's four year old voice singing it missing a few words here and there.

So...summer is over. My last day was today and boy did Greta want to make it memorable! We did EVERYTHING. First we had a tea party, complete with pretzels, Ritz Crackers, M&M's and of course Pink Lemonade "tea." Then played Pretty Pretty Princess, then made slime-turquise colored...all three girls favorite! Then we watched Jungle Book 2. Of course had chicken nuggets for lunch (can't tell you how many times i have made those the last three months). All in all it was a great day. Both girls were in good moods which made it easy to enjoy.
(I will post pictures of our day later, left my camera cord at home)

It was hard and sad to say goodbye...we have had so much fun this summer and made so many memories. I definitely look forward to seeing them soon...*hint*hint (come to San Diego! :)

Now I am already back at school and gearing up for the next job. All my boxes of tricks and fun are packed up for the summer and the boxes of school stuff will (soon be) unpacked. Can not believe that summer is over. It was fun while it lasted.

Mamma Mia

Yesterday was oh so much fun. We made our own homemade pizzas for lunch! The girls absolutely loved making everything from scratch and getting to knead their own dough and put their own toppings on their pizzas and then eat their creations in the end. It was very fun! They all took turns adding the flour and mixing the dough and everything else that making a pizza from scratch entails. It was messy and slimy and nasty, but it was fun! And the pizza...DELICIOUS! I'm considering making it again tomorrow...we'll see.

Today was my last day with all of the girls. We just hung out, watched tv, made slime, and did what we do best...be silly! It was so weird and sad that it was it for the summer, the big girls go back to school in the morning. But I get to spend tomorrow with the little ones.

There's a cute story behind this one... :)

She was staring at herself in the mirror laughing at herself...I got a laugh out of it!

These two were just sitting so quietly watching tv oblivious to what I was doing...so I put whipped cream on their noses...they weren't really sure what to do!
